so it turns out returning home isn't all that great

Okay, yes I realise that title is pretty much a given, but I have to admit after 9 months of living in Australia, I was actually pretty damn happy to be coming home.

SAY WHAT?!?!

Yes I realise that sounds like absolute nonsense, and to those of you who have spent time travelling, it will sound like the most crazy statement in the world. But it's true. I love Australia, more than anything, but I was excited to come home.

I missed my home comforts. I missed my bed. I missed having my own room. And I missed my family.

And the first month of being home was great. I visited my brother in America for a week, got a job really quickly and got to see my friends and family.

And while I'm still enjoying being home, I find myself getting really itchy feet.

But this isn't anything new to me. I've had itchy feet before. I've dreamt of travelling the world before. But boy oh boy was that nothing compared to now. I think it's safe to say that after travelling it's really hard to be content back at home. I find myself dreaming about going back to Australia. Travelling to all the corners of the world and seriously wondering whether I will ever be content living in one place for an extended period of time.

At the moment I have a good job and a job that I enjoy. But at the moment I can't picture myself doing this job, or any job for that matter, for an extended period of time. I can't see myself being happy staying in one place for any extended period of time. Even beautiful Sydney.

I think it's safe to say that travelling has made me a better person but it's also ruined me. It's shown me what my life can be like, how amazing it can be, and I think I'm going to spend my life trying to get that back. Either that or I'm going to spend my life constantly dreaming about it. And in this case, I'm not sure dreaming is enough.
